These struts hold the hood of the vehicle up, allowing you work more freely around the engine bay of your vehicle. When they fail however, it becomes more of a nuisance than anything. Now whenever you get under your hood, you have to find something to stick in there to hold it up or, if you trust them for a while, your hood comes down unexpectedly to close with you in the middle. Keep your hood up and in position with replacement struts.
