Recommended to be replaced at the first sign of wear.
Over time, the chain that runs between the camshafts begin to get some slack in it. It is the tensioner’s job to remove this slack and keep everything tight. If the tensioner fails, the chain makes noise, slaps around, and can cause drivability problems. Keep everything tight by replacing your chain tensioner.
Pick up a valve cover gasket as well to make this job go as smoothly as possible.
