Applies tension to the camshaft timing chain.
The camshaft chain tensioners keep tension on the chain that links the intake and exhaust cams together, to keep them moving in time. If the tensioner begins to fail, the chain that runs between the cams will begin to slack, causing noise and driveability issues. Keep your cam chain tight to keep the camshafts turning together by replacing the faulty tensioner in your engine. This camshaft chain tensioner is for cylinders 4-6.
Don’t forget to pick up a new valve cover and cam chain tensioner gasket to ensure a leak free installation.
