Bump stops on your shocks provide extra cushioning before the suspension bottoms out. They help prolong the life of your suspension by preventing it from reaching its full travel and also protect the underside of your vehicle from damage caused by bottoming out. If you’re replacing your shocks and struts, consider replacing the bump stops as well to improve ride comfort and reduce harsh suspension impacts.
