Oil Check Valve – 079103175COE

These oil check valves are located in the cylinder block, under the valley pan.  They open and close, controlling oil flow to the cylinder heads.   These are a commonly replaced item due to the fact that they have been known to stick in the open position, not allowing oil to be retained in the cylinder heads.   A common solution for the early stages of ‘warm start rattle’ due to failed check valves not retaining oil in the cylinder heads, which leads to chain tensioners loosing oil pressure.   If you’re experiencing guide/chain rattle, this is a good fix before investigating and swapping out timing components.
