SERVICE CHECKLIST

Late Model Vehicles - Every 10,000 km or every 12 months
Early Model Air Cooled Vehicles - Every 6000 miles or every 6 months

 

	Check WOF and Registration dates.
	Engine oil changed, Oil filter renewed.
	Water drained from fuel filter or water trap (Diesel engine).
	Antifreeze strength checked, coolant level topped up as necessary.
	Hydraulic oil level in servo-assisted steering and/or central hydraulic system checked and topped up as necessary.
	ATF level in automatic box checked and topped up as necessary.
	Battery acid level checked and topped up with distilled water as necessary.
	Engine checked visually for leaks.
	Belt condition and tension checked and adjusted as necessary.
	Cam belt condition and tension checked and adjusted as necessary.
	Check radiator hoses.
	Air cleaner element renewed and housing cleaned.
	Spark plugs renewed.
	Ignition timing, idling speed and CO content checked and adjusted as necessary (petrol engine).
	Idling speed checked and adjusted as necessary (Diesel engine).
	Valve clearances checked and adjusted as necessary and cylinder head cover gaskets renewed for engines without hydraulic tappets.
	Compression check.
	Operation of windscreen wiper/washer systems checked and topped up with cleaning fluid as necessary.
	Clutch pedal clearance checked and adjusted as necessary.
	Brake fluid level checked. Brake pad thickness checked.
	Brake lining thickness checked.
	Brake system visually checked for leaks and damage.
	Exhaust system checked for damage.
	Under body sealant visually checked for damage.
	Gearbox, final drive and C.V. joints visually checked for leaks and damage.
	Steering knuckle ball joint dust caps checked for leaks and damage.
	Tie rod ends - play, security and dust caps checked.
	Tread depth and wear pattern checked on all tyres, including spare wheel.
	Tyre pressures checked and corrected as necessary.
	Door check straps greased.
	Lighting system, emergency warning/turn signal systems and horn functionally checked.
	Headlight settings checked and adjusted as necessary.
	Check engine mounts.
	Check suspension and shocks. Road test, final check.In addition every 30,000 km
	Fuel filter renewed (every 30,000 km)
	Automatic gearbox ATF renewed, oil pan and strainer cleaned, oil pan gasket renewed (every 30,000 km)Every 2 years
	Brake fluid renewed

Average cost for Air-cooled Vehicles $250.00 plus GST
Average cost for Golf, Audi and other late model cars from $350.00-$600.00 plus GST
